The Public Security Training School

The Public Security Training School (1946-1949) was established under Decree No. 215/NV-P2 dated on 25/6/1946 by Ministry of Home Affairs. It was located at 15, Tran Binh Trong Street, Hanoi. Then, it moved to Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang provinces. From 1946 to 1949, its mission was to train and retrain Public Security cadres to meet the requirements of the struggle to defend and safeguard the infant revolutionary administration./.

The Intermediate Public Security School

On 31/12/1949, Ministry of Home Affairs promulgated Decree No. 385/NV-P2 on Renaming the Public Security Training School into the Intermediate Public Security School. It was located at Mo Giat area, Cau Bi, Tu Thinh commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province ( now Tan Thai village, Minh Thanh commune, Tuyen Quang province). From 1949 to 1953, its mission was to organize professional training classes within the Public Security sector to serve the resistance war against the French colonial invaders, which was entering a turning point, transitioning from the defensive stage to a counter-offensive on all fronts./.


 

 

The Central Public Security School

On 16/2/1953, Prime Minister promulgated Decree No. 141/SL Renaming the Intermediate Public Security School into the Central Public Security School. It was located at Phai Cong village, Xuan Quang commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province. In 1965, it moved to Ha Dong town, Ha Dong province ( now Ha Dong ward, Hanoi city). From 1953 to 1974, its mission was to train cadres to reinforce for Central Security of Southern Department, Laos battle; train cadres and lecturers to reinforce the building of Departmental Central Security School in Tay Ninh./.

The Public Security Officer School

The Central Public Security School was renamed into the Public Security Officer School under Decision No. 2369/TCCB dated 30/12/1974 by Public Security Ministry. From 1974 to 1981, the school entered a new stage of development, aiming to expand its diverse training and refresher programs, thereby contributing to building a contingent of Public Security cadres and soldiers capable of meeting the requirements and tasks of the struggle for national security protection. During this period, the school’s trainees both engaged in their academic studies and participated in addressing the country's urgent political tasks, such as taking over administration,  restructuring  industry and trade in the South, exploiting records left behind by the enemy and Saigon Regime; breaking reactionary fomentation and conspiracies to cause riots and subversion; preventing activities to organize illegal emigration. Especially, its mission was to engage in the Southwestern and Northern border fronts, contributing to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland./.

The People’s Security University

The Public Security Officer School was renamed into the People’s Security University under Decision No. 13/QĐ-BNV dated on 18/6/1981 by Ministry of Home Affairs. From 1981 to 2001, its mission was to  train high-quality human resources at various educational levels, expanding international cooperation in training and scientific research, as well as applying and transferring technology in the protection of security and order./.

The People’s Security Academy

On 02/10/2001, Public Security Minister promulgated Decision No.967/2001/QĐ-BCA (X13) on Renaming the People’s Security University into the People's Security Academy. It was located at 125 Tran Phu, Ha Dong ward, Hanoi city (the present location). Since 2001, its mission has been to gradually develop the scope and scale of training towards a multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral approach, innovating teaching and research content and methodologies, strengthening management, and enhancing educational quality to meet the requirement of the practice of national security protection amid international integration./.
